Moat docs

Quickstart

Create an API key in the API view and name it after the agent that will use it. Send a POST to /v1/scan with agent, source and text.

Branch on the verdict field. Store rule_id with your own logs so you can match it against the Moat agent log later.

Source types and detectors

Set source to token_metadata, memo, message or feed. Moat adjusts thresholds by source, since token names are short and memos are often empty or encoded.

Address look-alike checks compare Base58 strings in the text against the saved payees and addresses you give each agent.

Paying with x402

If a request has no key, the endpoint answers 402 with a USDC amount and a Solana address. Pay from the agent wallet, such as a Phantom, Solflare or Backpack keypair, then retry with the proof.

Payments can be checked on Solscan. Key plans and x402 can be used side by side on the same agent.
